February 20: The Stok Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Social Welfare Home for Physically Disabled Individuals, located at 78 Kosmonautów Street in Lublin. This collaboration aims to enrich the cultural experiences of the home’s residents through a series of art-focused events.
The Social Welfare Home at 78 Kosmonautów Street specializes in providing care and rehabilitation for adults with physical disabilities, including conditions such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, post-stroke states, and muscular dystrophy. The facility accommodates 90 residents, most of whom use wheelchairs, and offers double occupancy rooms equipped with full sanitary facilities. Residents receive daily care, medical supervision, physical rehabilitation, and occupational therapy. The home also organizes various social activities, including cultural outings, to promote community engagement.
Our partnership commenced with an event titled “Encounter with Art,” held in the home’s main hall. Magdalena Norkowska, a distinguished curator from the National Museum in Lublin delivered an engaging multimedia presentation showcasing masterpieces from the Louvre Museum. The event attracted nearly 40 participants, all of whom expressed great enthusiasm and appreciation for the experience.
Building on this success, the Stok Foundation and the Social Welfare Home plan to continue organizing similar art events in the future, aiming to provide residents with ongoing opportunities to engage with and appreciate art.
