A new project under the STOCK Foundation’s Flavours of Change Grants Programme is supporting Vuluntary Fire Birgade Markuszów. Kasia Brillowska is a volunteer with the STOCK Foundation who helps OSP and won a grant to fund equipment for the Youth Fire Team such as elements of the equipment for combat training: a footbridge, a pouring shield, a knotting station, as well as training clothing: a set of training clothes and fleece hoodies for young people.

Youth Fire Brigade has recently been operating at the Markuszów Voluntary Fire Brigade. At present, they are preparing to take part in fire-fighting competitions. Meetings, which take place every Friday at the primary school, include learning how to tie knots, operate a fire extinguisher, connect hoses and recognize individual pieces of equipment. The classes popularize fire safety issues among young people and at the same time are a good way for young people to spend their time. The aim of the initiative is to ensure the continuity of fire brigade operations by training young people, as well as involving them in the local community and improving its safety.
