At the City Hall building in Lublin, on the anniversary of the outbreak of the January Uprising, an excellent curator from the National Museum Anna Czajczyk delivered an illustrated presentation on the works of Adam Chmielowski, known later in life as Brother Albert.
The event, aimed at seniors under the care of the city office, was organized by the Stock Foundation and guests were welcomed by the Vice President of the City, Ms. Anna Augustyniak.
Adam Chmielowski was a Polish painter and Franciscan friar who began his career in art before dedicating his life to serving the poor and homeless. He participated in the January Uprising of 1863 and later studied painting in major European art centers including Paris and Munich. After experiencing a deep religious calling, he founded the Albertine Brothers and Sisters, devoted to helping those in need.
