Cleaning the Vistula, Day of Volunteering
News / Blog
On 19 September, the Stock Foundation organized a major clean-up of the Vistula River together with volunteers from our Warsaw office. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part, and we’re already planning to do something similar next year.
A total of 60 volunteers joined forces to take care of the riverbanks. With great weather and even greater energy, our teams rolled up their sleeves and got to work. The event was supported on-site by the dedicated team from “Czyste Rzeki.”
In a friendly spirit of competition, participants formed five-person teams to compete for the title of “Cleaning Champions.” The winning group — Kubusie from Łódź — collected an impressive 100 kg of waste. Together, all teams removed nearly 3 tons of trash.
The cleanup ran from 12:00 to 16:00, with volunteers equipped with gloves, bags, mosquito repellent and water, and four lifeguards ensuring everyone’s safety.
After the work was done, we wrapped up the day with pizza and a moment to celebrate our shared success.
Thank you to every volunteer for your commitment, energy and heart.
Together, we make a real difference — and we look forward to doing it again next year.
