Clean rivers and bodies of water are a shared responsibility that calls for concrete action. The Stock Foundation organises employee volunteering campaigns to clean up the banks of rivers, canals and other waters. We work with community organisations and local partners, involving employees directly in protecting the environment. It is not only about hundreds of kilograms of rubbish collected, but also about building environmental awareness, a sense of responsibility for shared spaces and bringing people together around an important cause.
How it started
The first large clean-up in Poland took place in September 2025 on the Vistula in Warsaw: 60 volunteers from the Warsaw office collected almost three tonnes of rubbish. In the same year Stock employees also cleaned up rivers in Czechia.
How it works in practice
Every clean-up follows a similar pattern: volunteers meet at the base tent, everyone gets gloves, bags and water, groups work for a few hours, and at the end the rubbish is weighed and everyone shares a meal. Paramedics are on hand throughout.
After Warsaw came other cities. In May 2026, 17 volunteers cleaned the woods along the Zemborzyce Reservoir in Lublin; in June, 26 people cleared the banks of the Biała and Straconka rivers in Bielsko-Biała; and in October more than 40 employees of the Warsaw office collected almost 1.4 tonnes of rubbish from the banks of the Żerań Canal, this time also from kayaks.
